DENNIS HOWARTH
Founder, Chairman of the Board, and Chief Executive Officer.
Dennis and his partners founded National Registered Agents, Inc. (NRAI) in 1995. As CEO, his foremost goal has been to focus NRAI resources exclusively on providing the highest quality registered agent services available in the United States and worldwide. As a result, Dennis has positioned NRAI as a market leader in technology and exceptional customer service for the industry.
Dennis is a thirty year industry veteran, who began his career in Chicago with the United States Corporation Company. It later merged with The Prentice-Hall Corporation System, Inc. in 1985 becoming Prentice Hall Corporate Services. Dennis was instrumental in forming and implementing a strategy to merge the operations of these two companies and was a key member of the management team that fostered its accelerated growth. During his 23 year tenure with Prentice Hall, Dennis held a variety of executive positions with overall responsibility for seven different business groups, including Prentice Hall’s highly regarded Registered Agent Services.
Throughout his career, Dennis has held fast to the belief that the key to success lies in offering a service of both exceptional quality and value. Under his leadership, NRAI now services more than 90,000 clients and continues to achieve unprecedented annual growth.
Dennis is a recognized authority on Registered Agent and related services and is an active participant in numerous industry associations and groups, including the National Public Record Recorder’s Association, the American Society of Corporate Secretaries, and the International Association of Corporate Administrators. Dennis is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Champaign with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.
STEPHEN W. CRAIG
Founder, Executive Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors.
During his career as an attorney and as a thirty year veteran of the information industry, Stephen has held numerous positions in management and law. Most recently, he was President and Managing Member of Superior Information Services, LLC, a fast growing database information company that served the legal, real estate, and insurance markets. In 2004 he orchestrated the merger of Superior with ChoicePoint, Inc., a publicly traded information company.
From 1985-1995 Stephen was President and Chief Executive Officer of Prentice Hall Legal and Financial Services, the country's premier supplier of corporate organization and registered agent services. During his tenure, the organization grew tenfold, serving the nations' top 1000 law firms and corporate customers, while acting as registered agent for the most prestigious names in corporate America and setting the industry standard for technological and service innovation.
Stephen has also held the position of Chief Executive Officer for several small businesses including Surety Technologies, Inc., an internet security company. He also founded Lenders Capital Recovery Services, LLC, a consulting business for financial institutions.
Stephen is licensed to practice before the state and federal courts in both New Jersey and New York. He currently serves on the Board of several information service companies and actively consults in the areas of strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and business development.
Stephen received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Rutgers University, a Masters in Business Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University.
DENNIS TARZIAN
Founder, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Member of the Board of Directors.
As a seasoned financial and operating executive, Dennis has enjoyed a distinguished career as an executive with International Paper Company, Revlon and Paramount Communications (now part of Viacom).
Dennis served as an International Finance Director for a Fortune 500 industrial company while living in Latin America. He also served as an Assistant Treasurer, and later, Vice President of Corporate Development for the Revlon Corporation. From 1988 through 1996 he served as a senior operating executive at Paramount Communications where he met the other NRAI co-founders.
As Chief Operating Officer of the Business, Technical and Professional Group at Paramount Communications, Inc., Dennis led the group through a series of portfolio alignment activities exiting slower growth information properties and leveraging strong positions in the legal and financial vertical markets. Investments in new online database systems, as well as strategic acquisitions, helped accelerate growth to a rapid pace. Dennis succeeded in refining core operations, while providing stable leadership during a rapidly changing competitive landscape.
More recently, Dennis joined a private equity firm, serving as CEO of an educational technology portfolio company where he led efforts to expand network technologies, upgrade the national sales force and develop marketing alliances that expanded operations. Improving test scores on state and national standardized exams, Dennis invested in new technologies which helped students meet stricter US standards.
In 2002, Dennis joined NRAI full time as the company began to rapidly expand its service operations and channel development. In addition to leading a number of key strategic acquisitions, he developed a long term strategy for the business, helping to improve marketing and channeling development through telesales, along with direct web and search driven outlets. Dennis ensures that all financial controls are in place to allow NRAI to invest in its future expansion.
Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Research and Systems from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn as well as a Masters in Business Administration in Finance and Marketing from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
CHARLES BACLET
Founder, Vice President and Secretary, Member of the Board of Directors.
Charles “Charley” Baclet has worked within the public record industry for over 35 years. Mr. Baclet has become one of the leading experts in all areas of transactional work with specialization in mergers, acquisitions and complex corporate filings.
Mr. Baclet served as Manager for Prentice Hall Legal and Financial Services for over 17 years in Southern California. While at Prentice Hall, he was recognized as the number one Corporate Specialist and a leader for the company in developing and implementing training seminars for Corporate Specialists throughout the United States.
Mr. Baclet currently serves as President and Chief Executive Office of Charles Baclet and Associates, Inc. (“CBA”). He also was an invited guest lecturer for the prestigious paralegal certification program at the University of California at Irvine. He works extensively with all state agencies and a past member of the International Association of Corporate Administrators
Mr. Baclet founded Charles Baclet & Associates in 1995. The state agency relationships established over his career has allowed CBA to be the fastest growing corporate service office of National Registered Agents, Inc. (“NRAI”). Mr. Baclet and his stellar associates have a service mentality that has fueled its unprecedented growth. The corporate experts at CBA assist law firms and companies nationwide as part of their daily service.
Charley is a graduate of Wabash Valley College and also completed his Paralegal Certification from University of California, Irvine.
EILEEN ASH
Director of Representation Services and Assistant Secretary.
Eileen brings over 35 years of experience to NRAI. In 1972, she began her career at United States Corporation Company's New York City Corporate headquarters and was instrumental in the conversion of all representation data from a manual format to the company's first computer database.
When United States Corporation Company merged with Prentice-Hall Corporation System, Eileen became the liaison between the new company's Representation System users and the Information Technology department. She managed the Representation and Tax Notification departments while continuing to work closely with IT constantly enhancing the company's ever growing systems. Her responsibilities included managing the critical representation data and quality processes for over 90,000 companies with over 200,000 units of representation. In this capacity, she was responsible for overseeing the mailing of over one million tax bulletins annually.
At NRAI, Eileen remains the primary registered agent contact person for some of the nation's most prestigious corporations. She continues to oversee the mission critical coordination of Representation Records with Information Technology.
Eileen is a graduate of Brooklyn University.
ROBERT K. ROWELL
Vice President and General Counsel, Chief Ethics Officer, Member of the Board of Directors.
As former Legal Research Manager and Director of Representation Services for Prentice Hall Legal and Financial Services, Rob has over 20 years of experience in the computer related legal area. Rob is an experienced corporate and litigation attorney, and is fluent with multiple software platforms for legal and corporate applications. Rob is a licensed member and in good standing of the Massachusetts and Vermont Bars.
Rob participates in the American Bar Association’s Business Law, Intellectual Property, and Litigation Sections. Rob is also a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the National Association of Corporate Directors and is a veteran of private practice as well.
Staying current with the never-ending flow of new and revised state forms and statutes, Rob lends his expansive knowledge to NRAI’s online document library which was recently praised as "one of the top research websites for corporate paralegals." Rob also follows Federal and State legislative action and authors NRAI's Monthly Legislative Newsletter, "NRAI Compliance Updates."
Rob holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University and a Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University.
KENT ROCKWELL
Executive Vice President of Business Development, Member of the Board of Directors.
Responsible for all aspects of Sales and Business Development at NRAI, Kent’s extensive field experience includes four years directing online product development for ARI Network Services, Inc., where he introduced an online UCC database targeted at business clients and the banking industry. Upon graduation, Kent began his career at ConAgra. He also spent four years marketing representation services to Midwestern corporate clients for another registered agent services provider.
During Kent's tenure at NRAI, the company has grown significantly, tripling the number of its corporate and legal clients to its current level. Drawing upon his keen sense for the corporate market and extensive prior sales and management experience, Kent has played a vital part in shaping the cutting edge image and outstanding performance of National Registered Agents, Inc.
A member of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries and the Legal Assistant Management Association, Kent holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln in Business Administration.
